Connect Seniors
Serves seniors and older adults (55 plus) in the Mountain View County region who require supports to feel safe, secure, and socially connected while they remain living in their homes as they age.
Services are provided as a fee for service and a sliding fee scale is available for as long as there are program funds available. Access to the sliding fee scale is based on recorded annual gross income.
The service fee can slide from $8.25 – $33 per hour; and the transportation fee can slide from $0.13 to $0.50 per kilometre.
Required services are determined by the client and/or their caregivers and will be delivered by a team of professional and trained staff using a person-centered approach.
Services include:
- System Navigation: provides access to and knowledge of relevant community support services and resources relevant to their needs (income and government support services support, homeowner services).
- Transportation: escorted transportation, utilizing CSS staff-owned vehicles to provide support to attend medical and non-medical appointments within the Olds area, including shopping, errands, and social events.
- Companionship: staff will spend time with you in their home, doing activities you enjoy, addressing loneliness or isolation and increasing your sense of safety and well-being.
- Social Support Connections: staff will provide transportation so you can attend community events, visit with friends, or do other day-to-day things you enjoy.
- Respite: provides primary caregivers with a break from caregiving.
- Homemaking: staff will assist with meal clean up and general tidying or will make referrals for full housekeeping services.
- Meal Support: staff will assist with meal planning, shopping, and preparation, and provide companionship during meals.
