teens to Adults – t2A
t2A is a group-based hourly service designed to provide a safe fun environment for older teens and young adults with developmental disabilities to connect with others, build community connections and friendships, or learn a variety of skills, and provide hourly respite for caregivers to enjoy a break from caregiving.
t2A is offered in the Airdrie and Strathmore locations.
Opportunities for participants:
- Build a sense of belonging, make new friends
- Build peer skills in a safe environment with the support of skilled staff
- Community social and recreation options – providing support, as needed, to attend community social and recreational events offered in the community
- Learning basic independent living skills (shopping, cooking, laundry)
- Providing a safe and fun environment to gain and practice social skills with staff-supported interactions and problem-solving.
- Have fun!
Opportunities for caregivers:
- Time to relax and focus on self-care
- Attend personal appointments, complete errands, shopping, etc.
- Have peace of mind knowing that your child is having fun and being supported by skilled staff
- Access quality services in your community lessening trips to the city
t2A runs Monday to Friday with days and timeslots available to meet individual needs.
Individuals who typically access services have funding through Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) or Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD).
